We all have different patterns that come up in our lives, specific goals we can’t quite seem to conquer no matter how hard we try year after year. For some it’s as simple as continually hitting that SNOOZE button even though we know deep down it will only benefit us in the long run to get up and get going (ahem, guilty as charged I’m a TOTAL night owl and will come up with every excuse in the book to avoid getting up early). For others it’s a bit deeper like choosing the wrong partner over and over again like one of my brave yoga clients recently admitted or choosing money over fulfillment whenever one comes to a crossroads. This, my friends, is called self-sabotaging and while it’s typically not even on our radar, since it’s a part of our subconscious, it’s actually a reflection of low self-esteem based on fear and a desire to feel “safe”—even if it’s at the expense of our own happiness.

Self-confidence determines EVERYTHING in life and has a direct correlation to what we accomplish, based on what we believe we deserve. From having a friendly conversation with the checkout employee, to the way we allow (or don’t allow) people to treat us, to whether we go after our wildest dreams… this all directly reflects the way we respect and feel about ourselves deep inside! It doesn’t matter what you look like or how much money you have, self-esteem is something you have deep inside and it can’t be bought. High self-esteem makes you unstoppable and can become a game changer if you practice different skills to hone and increase your self-esteem daily!

So before you move into practicing the next steps, really reflect. Take a moment and think about the areas in your life that you feel fulfilled verses unfulfilled. (STOP here and take a moment to close your eyes and reflect as this is the key for this exercise to really work and help move you towards your goals). Now… take that a step further and notice things in your life that fulfill you and that don’t, notice which are patterns that come up over and over again in your life? Good or seemingly “bad”, the lesson is always in the patterns. A pattern that reflects something positive shows where we feel confident in our lives and a pattern that shows something negative or makes us feel negative emotions (frustration, sadness, loneliness, jealousy, anxiety, overwhelmed, etc.) simply reflects where we feel insecure in our lives. When we can conquer the root problem, we can change our belief system which will in-turn effect our action and (drum roll please…) create the RESULT of accomplishing the goal at hand! Basically, when we change our thoughts, we change our emotions, which effects the results we get allowing ourselves to move through mental and emotional blocks in our self-confidence and finally conquer our goals!!!

GET READY AND SHOW UP FOR YOURSELF DAILY!

This is a big one for those like myself who work from home or have a lot of freedom in their work or school schedule. Sure, it’s easy to just roll out of bed and throw on whatever is cozy, not make the bed and jump into your day but how is that going to make you feel half way through the day? Not very good. While of course we all know that physical beauty is just one aspect of being a trubeauty (there is still mental, social, spiritual and emotional beauty which are ALL just as crucial to being a whole and confident beauty) at the same time when we look good, we feel good as Hayley Hobson, 7 figure mom-treprenaur and founder of hayleyhobson.com, just recently wrote on her Instagram post a few days ago. Right when I read this, I loved it because it’s SO true!! As women, it’s important to show up for ourselves and when we take care of ourselves and our home (I don’t care if you’re rocking yoga clothes and no makeup all day like I often do just make sure it’s yoga clothes and a look that make you FEEL confident and put together, that’s the key how you feel)! When you feel on your game in taking care of yourself and your home, you can continue to give to others and come from a place of beauty, strength, organization and power which leads to confidence! Others pick up on this energy and you will absolutely accomplish any goal faster – guaranteed! WHEN YOU DON’T WANT TO DO IT, THINK ABOUT WHY YOU STARTED SPRINKLED WITH FAST FIXES!

Think about what motivated you to start when you are feeling blah or have lost that momentum towards your goals, while at the same time try not to take yourself so seriously and toss in a few quick energy quick fixes. For me, I love to throw on a great song, let my imagination go wild thinking about my life once my goals are accomplished (which is a key component for manifesting by the way) and then grab a Starbucks and take action! Taylor Swift or Natasha Bettingfields “Pocket Full Of Sunshine” is usually enough to get the job done! You want something happy, confident with the there’s no stopping me feel! Typically by the time that song (often on repeat) is over, I’m feeling energized, re-inspired and ready to rock and roll! So find that big reason of why you started to begin with mixed with some quick pick-me-ups to keep you on track making progress towards your goals each day – it doesn’t matter how small, just progress!

COMBINE WHAT YOU’RE SKILLED AT + PASSIONATE ABOUT + MAKES YOU FEEL THE MOST ALIVE!

This is a big one because this trio combo puts you in your sweet spot to accomplish your goals to the highest possible level and grow in status. You are mixing your natural skills (say, sales for example even if it does not fulfill you perhaps you’re really good at it); mixed with something that you are passionate about (perhaps a cause of some sort or deeper purpose based on something dear to your heart or that you have been through); mixed with the most important thing in my opinion – that creative outlet that puts you in your flow state where you lose track of time (maybe it’s taking awesome pictures for your Instagram account or writing). Whatever your unique combination is, reflect and write down your three and keep that short list handy in a place you see it daily seeking jobs, hobbies, etc. that incorporate as many or all three if possible. This will put you in alignment with your calling and your highest version of yourself, which will allow you to grow on a social status level but most importantly on an inner fulfillment and confidence level by seeing your goals come to fruition. This is because you are living in balance and alignment with both your strengths and passions! Some people search their whole life to find this balance and fulfillment, don’t delay choose happiness NOW!!! All three prongs are key to long lasting change, fulfillment and ultimately the confidence it takes to tackle your big goals!

PRACTICE YOGA POSTURES THAT INCREASE SELF CONFIDENCE

Yoga leads to self discovery, which leads to higher self confidence always!!! Energetically speaking, part of the blocks that I discussed above can literally be energetic blocks in our body’s energy levels or chakras that need to be removed or moved around in order to “move through” or allow progress from one level of awareness to another. This is especially important for those patterns we notice that continually come up in our lives over and over again. Specifically, yoga postures that stimulate hip openers and heart openers are key to building self confidence, conquering negative belief systems we may have picked up from our family life growing up, blocks in our subconscious from the past, and allowing us to listen to our heart following what fulfills us and connects us to others in the most authentic way simply by being ourselves. KNOW YOUR WORTH… EVEN IF IT’S A WORK IN PROGRESS (hint: it’s a work in progress for everyone!) 😉

When you know your own worth that’s when others see it too. You are not alone… we all want this and we all want to feel more confident! It takes a deep belief in ourselves, feeling our most beautiful on the inside and out, mixed with taking action each day towards making our dreams our reality! When we start to see progress and movement closer towards our goals, that makes us feel confident (not relying on someone else to fill that void)! When you love yourself others do too! So start small, each day when your feet touch the ground when you get out of bed give gratitude for at least three things in your life that you made a goal in the past and have accomplished and then list three things that you need to do to make progress towards your current goal. Note: I say “goal” (singular) instead of “goals” (plural), because often times we spread ourselves too thin moving in too many different directions making little to no progress. This just spins our wheels and leads to frustration, limited results and low self esteem. So keep your focus singular to see more success towards your goals, keeping your emotions in check and ultimately build your self confidence faster!
